Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Our DS contract covers multiple markets/languages, but we can only find the Manufacturer Product Name in one language. Why?

Manufacturer Product Names are provided directly by brands. This means the brand has either chosen to supply the description in only one language or their contract with 1WorldSync covers only a specific language.

A brand provided us with their product names. Can we forward them to you?

No, brands must submit their products names directly. They need to be under contract with 1WorldSync to provide this content.

Are you still providing your standardized descriptions?

Yes, you will continue to receive the standard 1WorldSync short and long descriptions as usual.
This is simply an additional feature, introduced in response to long-standing requests from manufacturers/brands who wanted the ability to provide their own product names.

Are you going to provide guidelines to brands/manufacturers?

Yes, we will provide clear guidelines to brands and manufacturers to ensure that product names remain concise, relevant, and aligned with best practices. Our goal is to improve the overall quality of the descriptions you receive, making them more accurate and useful for your needs.  If you have any feedback on these Names, we encourage you to share it with us, we’re committed to continuously refining this feature to best serve you.

What categories are covered?

There are no category limitations for Manufacturer Product Names. If a brand supplies product names, they can potentially cover their entire catalog.

It is mentioned that the full description can be up to 300 characters. We believe this is too long. Could this limit be reduced?

We decided to allow up to 300 characters because in some languages, product names tend to be longer than in others.

It’s important to note that "up to" 300 characters does not mean that all manufacturer product names will reach that length. Most product names will naturally be much shorter.

Additionally, as mentioned in another FAQ, we will provide guidance to manufacturers based on market needs to ensure product names remain relevant and concise.
