Overview

Google Tag Manager is a free tool that makes it easy for marketers to add website tags – including conversion tracking, site analytics, re-marketing and more. It gives marketers greater flexibility and it lets webmasters relax and focus on important tasks.

This document provides an overview on how to insert the ContentCast Inline Content and Logo script as a custom HTML tag in Goggle Tag Manager

Prerequisites

Before you can integrate the ContentCast script, you will need to perform the following actions:

  1. Create an account or use an existing account at tagmanager.google.com
  2. Create a new container for your website
  3. Install a container in your content

Steps to add ContentCast Script as Custom HTML Tags

Since the ContentCast JavaScript is not yet explicitly supported via a template in Google Tag Manager, you will need to create a custom HTML tag to deploy our code. Follow the steps outlined below

  1. Log in to Google Tag Manager and into your respective Workspace
  2. From the Overview section, click on the “Add a new Tag” link

  3. Now click on “Choose a tag type to begin setup… and select “Custom HTML”1WSCGomez_1-1712668929424.png
  4. Paste the 1WorldSync JavaScript within the HTML text area1WSCGomez_2-1712668929425.png
  5. IMPORTANT: Replace “MANUFACTURER_NAME” and “MANUFACTURER_PART_NUMBER” variables in the 1WorldSync script with your website-specific variables that will contain the respective values. This will make sure the correct Manufacturer name and Manufacturer Part Numbers are passed to 1WorldSync when the tag gets fired. You could also hardcode the values for “LANGUAGE” and “MARKET” since they will be consistent. Feel free to comment out the unused variables such as ‘CPN’, ‘UPC_EAN_CODE’, and ‘CATALOG_CODE’
  6. IMPORTANT: When inserting variables within the custom HTML tag, make sure to wrap the variable names within double braces. For example ‘{{variable_name}}’
    1. See https://support.google.com/tagmanager/answer/6107167?hl=en#CustomHTML for more details
    2. Below is an example of how your custom HTML tag would look after filling in the variable names1WSCGomez_3-1712668929426.png
  7. Choose Triggers as “All Pages” to make sure the 1WorldSync script fires on all of your product pages1WSCGomez_4-1712668929426.png
  8. Click “Save”, “Preview” and then “Publish” once everything looks good.
