Why is content on Best Buy's product page different from what I submitted?
- Best Buy has contracted with 1WorldSync to produce customized product content according to their Style Guide formulas, rules, and requirements. Best Buy desires custom content because they consider it a key differentiator and a core competitive advantage.
Product specifications are taken "as provided" and normalized for consistency across all products in that category. Product description, marketing text and feature bullets are created based on Best Buy specified formulas and rules. Because of this, we can very rarely use the manufacturer's marketing content and preferred description verbatim.
The Style Guide also dictates the images. You can always submit a Manufacturer Claim in your PartnerAccess account requesting changes, and we will do all we can to accommodate them, but they may be declined in part or in whole if it goes against Best Buy's Style Guide requirements.
If you feel the content produced does not represent your product adequately, or could negatively impact sales, please contact your Best Buy Merchant.
What are the file naming conventions?
- Naming the files you upload correctly is vital to ensuring there are no unnecessary delays in the production process. When uploading content to 1WorldSync Content Solutions, please use the following naming conventions:
Specs/Attribute Files
For a single SKU: Manufacturer Name_Manufacturer partnumber_spec.xlsx
Example: Acmeproducts_CM016359_spec.xlsx
If uploading content for more than one SKU in the same template: Manufacturer Name_manufacturer partnumber_multi_spec.xlsx
Example: Acmeproducts_CM016359_multi_spec.xlsx, Acmeproducts_CM016360_multi_spec.xls
Image Files
Manufacturer Name_manufacturer partnumber_imageX.jpg
Example: Acmeproducts_CM016359_image1.jpg, Acmeproducts_CM016359_image2.jpg
Other File Types (PDFs, etc.)
Manufacturer Name_Manufacturerpartnumber_"short description".file extension
What type of files that can be uploaded?
1WorldSync is currently set up to receive and process the following file types:
- Product specifications and marketing content - in what ever format you have them in (there is no template to fill out)
- Product shots - images of the product only; white back ground with no props or overlays (highest resolution available - min 500x500)
- PDFs - Product data sheets, manuals/userguides, Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), etc.
NOTE: We do not accept video files at this time. Videos should be uploaded to Best Buy directly through their Digital Content Management System.
