Quantity Change

I have an item set up with a GTIN already but now our quantity per pallet is changed. I need to edit this and it will not allow me to do so as it says its published. I have unpublished this and it is saying I have to wait 24 hours for change. After 24 hours will I be able to change my quantity using the same GTIN?
