What affect does changing the Consumer Unit to "Yes" or "No" have on recipients who I have already published to.
Example:
We sell a case of pop to Store "A", who is going to sell it to the consumer by the inner pack, not the inner unit (the inner pack consumer unit is checked yes)
We sell a case of pop to Store "B", who is going to sell it to the consumer by the inner unit, not the inner pack (the inner pack consumer unit is checked no)
If I make the change in IM, doesn't that change funnel to all published recipients? and if so, what affect does changing the consumer unit have?

Hello and Happy Holidays!
The changes, any change really will go out to whomever you have published that product to. You will essentially be updating the hierarchy to allow the merchant to sell by either the Inner pack or the Each product type. This type of hierarchy is very common for those types of products. I would definitely work with your recipients, so they have an idea of what you're changing.

Good Morning -
If I understand correctly, I would need to contact each recipient to advise of the change?

Hi Areule,
Are you making a correction or is the hierarchy actually changing? If this is a mistake you will need to let your recipients know how the hierarchy should actually be. If the product is actually changing, you should consult the GS1 Allocation rules to determine if you should be using a new GTIN. I have attached a pdf of the GS1 Standard for you to review.

Hi -
No, the hierarchy isn't changing. In my example above, use Store "A" as Kroger, and Store "B" as Albertson's.
Once published out of IM, it forwards the hierarchy to PI. It is when it gets to PI that there is an issue. In PI, you cannot change the EA to PK and vice versa.
It would be best practice to publish the proper hierarchy, and be able to make those changes on the PI side.
Is there a way that can be done?

Areule,
The type of change you are asking for is not possible. The GS1 Standards would not allow us to publish the GTIN that way. The most common way would be to present both as a possible consumer unit. Are both GTIN able to be sold as a consumer unit on the packaging?

JCharles,
They both have the capability to be sold to the consumer

Areule,
You will want to publish them both as consumer units. You want to make sure you publish them as they are presenting.

Hi jcharles -
This question is more to the EA and the PK -
PI doesn't have the capability to edit that field, so I have to edit in IM.
That is why I asked how it affects every other recipient that I had previously published to
