Create, enable, edit, duplicate, or delete a Manually Configured distribution. Add or remove products from a distribution.
Distribution, or publication, of products must be manually managed. Distribution templates organize the desired content into a format that will be sent to Recipient contacts that have been entered into the platform.
Distributions identify the Requirement Set, distribution template, contact information, and the channel and frequency of pushing data to the contact.
Create a Manually Configured Distribution
- From the lefthand navigation panel, click Connections to navigate to the Recipients List page.
- Select the Manually Configured Recipient the new Requirement Set will be linked to. Filter the list by selecting Manually Configured in the Recipient Type dropdown menu.
- Click Distributions.
- Click Create New.
- Choose whether you’d like to send all linked products or a selected set of products each time you distribute to that Recipient.
- Continue to complete each section of the information:
- Products: Add products by clicking Add Products and checking each you’d like to add. Navigate through the pages and click Add Products at the bottom.
- Template: Select the template(s) to determine which content will be sent.
- Contacts: Select the contact(s) you want to send the product content to.
- Sending Options: Compile a message to be sent with the distribution. Choose whether the content is sent now or will be sent multiple times at a recurring frequency. Distribution options include:
- Frequency - Select a cadence from the dropdown and enter a Start Date and End Date (optional).
- Time Zone/Time - Select the time zone from the dropdown and choose what time the distribution should be delivered.
- Additional Options:
- Always Send On This Schedule - Products selected for distribution will be delivered at the frequency selected above, regardless of whether or not content has been updated.
- Send On This Schedule If And When The Products Have Been Updated -
- Entire Product Record - Complete product record will be delivered if ANY attribute for the product is updated and verified in the Syndigo platform.
- Only The Changed Attributes - Distribution will include ONLY the attribute values that have been updated since last distribution.
- Click Verify & Enable.
Add or Remove Product(s) in a Distribution
To keep specific products from being sent to a contact in a manually configured distribution, remove the products in one of three ways:
- If the Distribution includes all linked products...
On the Distribution card, click Edit. In the Products section, click the link to access all linked products. Select only the ones you’d like to include in the distribution.
- If the Distribution includes only a selection of products...
On the Distribution card, click Edit. In the Products section, check or uncheck the product(s) to change the products included in the distribution.
- If the Distribution should remain unchanged...
If the current Distribution will still be used in the future, duplicate the distribution and make changes to the new one. Click Duplicate on the Distribution card and make changes in the Products section of the pop-up window that appears.
Manually Configured Distribution Actions
In the Distributions tab of a Recipient Profile page, each distribution appears on a card. From each card, several actions can be taken:
- Enable or Disable - Turn on or off a recurring distribution of content without deleting the distribution set up.
- Delete - Permanently remove the entire manually configured distribution.
- Edit - Make edits that will take effect with the next scheduled push of content.
- Duplicate - Copy an existing distribution and edit the details to make a new manually configured distribution.
- If the Distribution includes all linked products...
On the Distribution card, click Edit. In the Products section, click the link to access all linked products. Select only the ones you’d like to include in the distribution.
- If the Distribution includes only a selection of products...
On the Distribution card, click Edit. In the Products section, check or uncheck the product(s) to change the products included in the distribution.
- If the Distribution should remain unchanged...
