Hello - new to the distributor side of things - I used to be just on the manufacturer side of things but switched jobs. We have customers that purchase ingredients/supplies from us that we have purchased from other people. One customer asked us to publish the information on oat milk we supplied them. That was done (not by me) and then they were told that they should not be publishing it because it is already registered in the GDSN (I am guessing by manufacturer). But the customer needs to get it into their system so they can order from us. I feel that the issue may have come from the information that was published - the oat milk was not ours, but yet was populated with us as brand owner (not true), us as manufacturer (not true), and no GPC classification which probably clashes with what is already in the GDSN for that GTIN. So, does anyone else deal with this successfully and how? We have to be able to get the information to them with OUR item number so they can order from us. Will it work successfully if the item is populated correctly? Or is there another way to do this? I searched the GS1 standards and rules and found that we are a distributor of sorts, but it didn't say what information should be populated - them as manufacturer and information provider? Or us?
