Guide to Enhanced Content Summary Reports

The summary reports referenced below are available to export from Report Builder when a new insights export is being created. In the first step presented when the Insights Export tool is launched, select the report type “Enhanced Content Report” to view the following options:

Reference the key columns and optional, contextual information available for each report export below.

Metric Definitions & Syndigo Terminology

  • Collection Type: This is the enhanced content attribute that determines whether the content should be made available for all sites by default (Generic) or if availability should be restricted to one retailer. This is specified when content is created.
  • Caption: This is the text entered into the Caption attribute available for many Syndigo enhanced content widget types.
  • Carts: An abbreviation of the term “Conversions”, which is a hybrid metric that represents the count of add-to-cart events or completed transactions – depending on the retailer. The formula to calculate conversions is: Add-to-cart events or Transactions / Sessions
  • Cart Value: Also referred to as “Conversion Value”, this is the total revenue associated with conversions (add-to-carts or completed transactions). Value is calculated using the formula: Product price * Units added-to-cart or purchased.
  • Clicks: The sum of interactions per visit. Unlike interactions, there is no maximum – this metrics represents the total number of clicks on enhanced content observed.
  • Clicks Per Interaction: Calculated as: Clicks / Interactions.
  • Conversions: Also referred to as “Carts”, this is a hybrid metric that represents the count of add-to-cart events or completed transactions – depending on the retailer. The formula to calculate conversions is: Add-to-cart events or Transactions / Sessions.
  • Conversion Rate: The percentage of sessions that result in a conversion. Formula: Conversions / Sessions.
  • Events: Events capture the specific actions taken by shoppers when interacting with the controls available on enhanced content, such as opening and closing hotspots, scrolling through a carousel, open and closing full-screen views of widgets, and playthroughs of videos.
  • Experience or Experience Type: From the context of Syndigo’s enhanced content solution, experience refers to either Hotspots, Toolbar, or In-Line – These speak to the location and form of presentation for enhanced content on product pages. Hotspots and Toolbar experiences are available in association with Hero Images which are above-the-fold and immediately visible when visitors load a URL in their browsers. In-Line is content that appears below-the-fold, generally located in a section designated by the retailer titled “From the manufacturer” or “From the brand”. In most cases, shoppers must scroll down the page to view the In-Line experience.
  • Interactions: Visits (page views) that resulted in the shopper clicking on any enhanced content at least one time (i.e. Selecting a hotspot, scrolling through a carousel). Within the context of Devices, there is a maximum count of 1 interaction per page view, per device.
  • Interaction Rate: The frequency by which visits resulted in at least one interaction. Calculated as: Interactions / Uniques.
  • Interaction Time: The total amount of time, in seconds, that all shoppers spent clicking on content during all visits.
  • Page ID: This is the identifier assigned by retailer sites to differentiate between each unique product details page URL. Reference this value to distinguish between distinct URLs on the same site.
  • Sessions: A single session consists of one or more page loads by a unique shopper during a one-hour period. A unique visitor may conduct multiple sessions on any given day, depending on their activity.
  • Time On Page: The total amount of time, in seconds, that all shoppers remained active on the product page URL overall before each session concluded.
  • Average Time On Page: Average time, in seconds, that all shoppers remained active on the product page URL overall before each session concluded. Calculated as: Time On Page / Sessions.
  • Uniques: Also referred to as Unique Visits – this metric is a count of each distinct visitor that loaded a URL where enhanced content was published. There is a maximum count of 1 Unique for each distinct shopper observed within any 24-hour period, and a single Unique shopper may be associated with multiple Visits and Sessions on any given day.
  • Viewable Impressions: Visits (page views) that resulted in the unique visitor bringing at least 200 pixels of enhanced content into view in the browser, whether that was above-the-fold content that appears instantly on page load or if they scrolled down to below-the-fold content on the page.
  • Viewable Impression Rate or Viewability Rate: The frequency by which Sessions resulted in at least 200 pixels of enhanced content appearing in the browser viewport. Calculated as: Viewable Impressions / Sessions.
  • Views: Visits that resulted in at least 200 pixels of enhanced content appearing in the browser viewport, per experience or widget type.
  • Widget Type: Also known as content types, widgets are the building blocks of enhanced content. A full collection of enhanced content is constructed using one or more widgets associated with any of the following types: Image Galleries, Document Galleries, Videos, Feature Sets, 360 Views, Carousels, Interactive Tours, Comparison Tables, Specification Tables, Text, and iFrames.
