Changing the alternate item ID number on the 14-digit GTIN record.

If the Item ID 10033400612525 changes its' Alternate Item ID# from 49S786Q0825 to 30M786Q0825 and it is published to trading partners, do we need to "unpublish" before making that update? Or is it something we can change and then do a re-publish function?

Hello @DawnVanWychen and thank you for reaching out through the Community.

There are only a handful of scenarios where updating a hierarchy's information would require a withdraw publication and I have attached an article that covers the topic: https://community.1worldsync.com/t5/IM-Knowledge/When-Do-I-Have-to-Wait-25-Hours-to-Update-My-Item-Hierarchy/ta-p/370

In your situation, I would recommend only updating the information and saving the items and that information will be updated for your trading partners to see. However please keep in mind that not all trading partners are the same and some will need you to republish / resubmit.
