Packaging Changes and how to time them

Hi - we are trying to figure out the best/perfect time to change packaging images when syndicating to customers. We will change our packaging slightly - maybe fat changed a bit in the nutrition facts panel or the appetite image changes on the package (no actual change to the product). Is there a standard on the timing to change the images for our customers?

In regard to packaging changes there would only be a problem if they are major seasonal packaging changes Adherence to GTIN Allocation Rules which would require new barcodes. Outside of that it would depend on the individual recipient and when they want those changes to take effect.

I have not heard of a universal standard for when to make those changes. There are of course GS1 standards GS1 Product Image Specifications - Includes Naming Details when it comes to images but they mostly follow naming conventions and other standards.

My advice would be to communicate with the recipients who would be impacted by those changes to see when they want the changes to happen.
