Digital Assets Primary Images

Good morning team!

I have been updating images by deleting some of our outdated External File Links and uploading digital assets.

I was wondering if there is any way to make an image "Primary" by just uploading it the first time instead of filling out the required information, then having to edit it in order to click on the "Primary Image" bottom. (Please see screen shots attached).

Hello @nancyVigo thanks for reaching out in the Community. If the image is the only image it will be automatically set as the primary. So if you remove the EFL then upload it should work in this manner. That would be the only way to automatically have it set as Primary.

@JustinW, thanks for the prompt response!

I have removed the EFLs first, then uploaded the digital assets, but I still need to edit the images to make them "Primary."

Do you recommend that I save the item after removing the EFLs, then go back and upload the digital assets?

@nancyVigo Yes, you would need to save between removing the EFL and uploading the image in DAM.

@JustinW, I'm attaching a screen shot showing that the Digital Asset I added after removing the EFLs, saving and validating the item is still not showing it as a Primary Image.

Your thoughts on anything else I'm missing are welcome. Thanks!

@nancyVigo Those are the correct steps. Do you recall if when adding the image on the pop-up did you see in green Primary Image?

Hi Nancy,

I'm not sure if you are aware, but if you are uploading more that one image at a time you can click and drag one image to make it the primary image. See below where I just switched them.
