topic UPC change - Existing Item in Ask A Question for Albertsons

Hi

We want to change the UPC code on an existing GTIN we publish to Albertsons. Can I do that or do I need to create all new GTIN's with corresponding UPC's. Can I link the two items so they both scan in on their side as basically the same item, but with a new UPC code?

Hello, @Paul34 Thank you for reaching out to our customer community. Welcome.

Once a GTIN is created cannot be updated/edited anymore therefore you would need to create the new GTINs with their corresponding UPCs in Item Management. An easier way to create new items is to clone the existing GTIN if the information matches with the new item and just change the required fields to match the new item ID. I've attached a link that will help with the item clone. How to Clone in Item Management to Create a New Item.

If you would like to link the two items I suggest reaching out to your recipient and seeing if they will accept the hierarchy you would like to create.

If you would like to delete the existing GTIN from Item Management attached are the steps: How to Delete (Purge) GTIN from Item Management.
